About Face Theatre Appoints Managing Director

CHICAGO – About Face Theatre has announced that producer and director Rick Dildine has been named the new managing director of About Face Theatre. Dildine comes to About Face from Brown University, where he worked with About Face Artistic Director Bonnie Metzgar and served as producer of the annual Brown University/Trinity Repertory New Plays Festival since 2006. 

ACT Begins Search for New Managing Director

SEATTLE — ACT – A Contemporary Theatre has begun a search for a managing director for the 42-year-old regional theatre. Jolanne Stanton, currently serving as MD, is leaving after a few months on the job.

Misha Berson in the Seattle Times reported that “The March 2007 hiring of Stanton, a nonprofit consultant who has served on ACT's board of directors, was a surprise to many because she had not run a theater before.”

Congrats to all the members of the Actors Theatre of Louisville’s 2012-2013 Apprentice/Intern Company! ATL’s program is one of the largest I know of—with 44 recent college graduates participating (22 acting apprentices and 22 interns). Interns will be placed in various departments throughout the theatre, learning the workings of a major regional theatre, while members of the Acting Apprentice Company will produce a full season of shows, culminating in a commissioned, full-length work at the Humana Fest. More than 2,300 artists auditioned for the acting company.

Actors Theatre of Louisville has finished a year-long process to create a new mission and vision for the theatre with the announcement of their 2013-2014 Board and Executive committee members. The board officers are: Todd P. Lowe, president; Elizabeth W. Davis, vice president; Elizabeth Rounsavall, director of research and analytics; Philip C. Eschels, secretary. New appointees to the board are: Phyllis Anderson, John Bajandas, Neville Blakemore III, Gill Holland and Ishmon F. Burks.

Actors Theatre of Louisville Names 2014-2015 Interns and Acting Apprentices

Actors Theatre of Louisville has namd the 37 recent grads who will make up their 2014-2015 Apprentice/Intern company. More than 2,000 recent grads applied for the 17 internships and 20 acting apprenticeships. Interns and apprentices will work alongside professional staff at one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, learning how a theatre works as well as putting those skills to use producing their own shows. Congrats to everyone selected!

45 new grads will be interns and acting apprentices at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Actors Theatre of Louisville has named their 45 acting apprentices and interns for their 2011-2012 season. The acting apprentices will act in a full season of new and devised works as well as participate in the Humana Festival in the 10-minute play Festival and Humana Anthology. The interns will receive first-hand experience in the inner-workings a of a major regional theatre.

Actors Theatre of Louisville will receive the 2013 Kentucky Governor’s Awards in the Arts National Award. Given annually by the Kentucky Arts Council, the awards celebrate Kentucky organizations that make “extraordinary and significant contriubtions to the arts.” Actors Theatre of Louisville was honored for their 50 years of providing “quality arts experiences to all ages across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

Actors Theatre of Louisville recently upgraded their façade in a bid to boost their physical marketing. They’re hoping to reach out to downtown workers who may not be aware of the theatre, as well as the estimated 1 million visitors who will be visiting the neighborhood and using the parking garage once the KFC Yum! Center—a sports arena—is open just around the block.

ADJ’s Inno Beam LED is a powerful and highly versatile automated fixture powered by a bright white 80W LED source. It utilizes a 6-degree beam angle and eight colors, plus white, to deliver an extensive range of mid-air beam effects. It has a wide palette of options available, such as beam reducers, a frost filter (for wash effects) and an eight-facet prism.
