Atlantic Theater Company Launches Back20 Ticketing Initiative

The Atlantic Theater Company has started a new initiative to offer cheaper tickets. The Back20 initiative will offer $20 tickets for previews at Atlantic Theatre Company’s mainstage productions. Tickets will be for the back two rows of the theatre (hence Back20) and availability will vary per performance.

Audinate Releases Version 3.10 of Dante Controller

Audinate updated their Dante Controller software to version 3.10. The new version of the Dante Controller software includes the ability to better manage larger networks with more high channel-count devices while enabling Dante Controller to take full advantage of upcoming firmware changes. It also allows users to manage Dante networks from laptops connected via Wi-Fi. The new Advanced Filter in Dante Controller 3.10 can be used to refine the range of devices displayed, allowing users to easily narrow and refine views when managing large Dante networks. Filter parameters include device and channel names, sample rate, latency setting and lock status. It also supports Device Lock, which allows users to remotely lock supporting Dante hardware and software devices using Dante Controller, employing a user-selected 4-digit PIN.

Audio-Technica’s new BPHS1-XF4 Communications Headset is designed to offer natural, highly intelligible stereo reproduction, featuring closed-back circumaural (around-the-ear) ear cups designed to provide maximum comfort and ambient noise rejection with minimal ear fatigue. The BPHS1-XF4’s boom-mounted moving coil dynamic microphone has a unidirectional polar pattern tailored for pickup of speech with maximum voice intelligibility over a wide frequency range. The flexible gooseneck boom swivels for easy positioning on either the right or left side.

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander Starts Work on Mount Royal University Conservatory Of Music

SAN FRANCISCO—Auerbach Pollock Friedlander, a performing arts/media facilities planning and design consulting firm, has begun work on Calgary’s Mount Royal University Conservatory of Music with Lead Architect Pfeiffer Partners, Inc. in association with locally-based Sahuri + Partners Architecture, Inc. Acoustical design is being provided by The Talaske Group. Auerbach Pollock Friedlander is providing full scope theatre consulting services for the new free-standing Conservatory that offers non-credit performance-based instruction to Mount Royal students and musicians from the greater Calgary community.

Avolites Titan v10 Software Now Available

Announced in April, the  new Titan v10 software from Avolites is available as a free download to upgrade all Avolites’ consoles from the Tiger Touch Pro (inclusive). It includes new features created in response to industry feedback, including: a 3D visualizer powered by the Capture engine, which allows the user to create and edit shows right inside the Titan interface; the Intensity Grid, which clearly shows levels, source of information, whether increasing or decreasing and tracking information; and the “Undo” action, allowing programmers to undo almost any action on the console.

Behind the Scenes 2014 Holiday Cards Now on Sale

The Behind the Scenes Foundation has released the designs for their 2014 holiday cards. The six designs include artwork from celebrated designers and young talent: Chris Barreca, Marci Bilskie, Alexander Dodge, Andrew Hefter, Todd Rosenthal, and Donyale Werle. Ordering options include packs of 10 with a standard greeting, personalized cards with a company logo and specialized message and electronic versions for delivery by email. Orders can be placed until Sept. 22 and cards will be delivered in November. Proceeds from sales will support Behind the Scenes, which provides financial support to entertainment technology industry professionals when they are ill or injured or to their surviving family members.

The ESTA 2011 Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards are now available for ordering. The cards feature designs from big-name designers Andrew Hefter, Seth Jackson, Derek McLane, and Jim Youmans, can be ordered with a personalized message or company logo (customization requires a minimum order of 250 cards), in regular packets of 10, or as an electronic version to be sent via email as a jpg, gif or pdf. As usual, all proceeds will benefit Behind the Scenes, an initiative of The ESTA Foundation that provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured.
