Jim brings to Wybron more than 18 years experience in sales, marketing, and executive sales management from diverse industries. For the past 10 years Jim has been in business outsourcing, distribution, manufacturing and channel sales where he was responsible for national sales for two separate companies in the consumer electronics, satellite, and wireless internet industry.

The Wybron Cygnus Incite LED 375W Profile

Wybron’s latest addition to its Cygnus line is the new Cygnus Incite 375W Profile fixture, designed to deliver a bright profile light with patent pending color mixing and a color rendering index of 92. According to manufacturer testing it puts out 6400 peak field lumens, while consuming a maximum of 375 watts. It has a four-channel mixing mode (RGBW) and uses Cree LEDs rated for 60,000 hours of lamp life. It is available with 19º, 26º and 36º lens tubes and comes with a 5-pin XLR connector for DMX and RDM feedback.

Wybron Employees Form Gel Services, Inc.

In the wake of last week’s news that lighting equipment company Wybron would be closing comes news that the employees of Wybron have formed a new company—Gel Services, Inc. (GSI). GSI has purchased some of Wybron’s assets and will continue to provide some of Wybron’s core services, including gelstring production and color changer service and repair. GSI will also continue to support the Gel Swatch Library app and other Wybron iOS apps. Gel Services, Inc., will open for business on July 1.

Wybron has released version 2.0 of the Gel Swatch Library App. The update is free for all current users, and includes updates and new features, including more control over search results, the ability to see how a gel will look on different light sources, and a stacking feature which allows users to stack two colors together and see the resulting color. To celebrate the release and allow more people to experience the app, Wybron is giving 100 copies of the app away in a promo entitled 50 Shades of Grape. While there are only three “grape” titled gels in the library, thanks to the stacking feature, users can create 47 or more shades of grape.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO.—The Wybron Mobile Showroom is headed Texas Dec. 6-10, with stops in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. The showroom will make its first three stops — Barbizon, Gemini Stage Lighting & Sound, and Stagelight — in the Dallas metro on Monday, Dec. 6; Tuesday, Dec. 7; and Wednesday, Dec. 8 respectively. On Thursday, Dec. 9 the Mobile Showroom will open its doors at Olden Lighting in Austin before heading to Texas Scenic Co. in San Antonio for its final stop of the year on Friday, Dec. 10.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO-The Wybron Mobile Showroom will return to the road Oct. 11-15, making stops in Tennessee, Ohio, and Kentucky during the thirteenth leg of its first national tour. The showroom will make its first stop Monday, Oct. 11 at Mainstage Theatrical Supply in Memphis, Tenn., before heading to Bradfield Stage Lighting in Nashville and Tennessee Lighting Company in Knoxville on Oct. 12 and 13 respectively. Then it's off to Vincent Lighting Systems in Erlanger, Ky., on Oct. 14, where the showroom will remain parked until heading to Vincent's sister store in Solon, Ohio, on Oct. 15 for its final stop of the month.
