AMX by Harman Releases N2300 Series of 4K Video Distribution Products

AMX by Harman released their new N2300 Series of video distribution products. The AMX N2300 Series distributes 4K video over existing Gigabit Ethernet networks using only 200 mbps. The low bandwidth means users can distribute 4K video over Gigabit Ethernet networks with only one frame of latency. The N2300 Series comes with support for HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, making the line compatible with the latest 4K sources and displays. The N2300 encoders and decoders are PoE-powered, avoiding the need for an external power supply and thus simplifying installation.

The new Kryo.Mix CMY fixture from Blizzard Lighting is designed to be a three-in-one beam/spot/wash moving head fixtures with CMY color mixing. It uses an extremely bright YODN R17 350W discharge lamp with a precision optical lens and a 1.5- 35° zoom to provide super sharp narrow or wide beam aerial effects with highly saturated colors via its CMY color mixing system. The advanced CMY color mixing system built into the Kryo.Mix CMY consists of three separate colors wheels with gradual Cyan/Magenta/Yellow (CMY) fade. Each wheel has 5 carefully selected color filters on each wheel for a total of 15 static colors + white. The Kryo.Mix CMY also has dual gobo wheels with bidirectional rotation and shake, 540°/280° pan and tilt movement, rotating 12/36-facet prism with auto beam adjustment, motorized zoom and focus, frost filter, and 1-18Hz cycle strobe for an endless beam effects.

Chamsys’ will debut their newest console, the MagicQ MQ500 Stadium Console, at LDI. The console is designed to offer the highest level of show control, including lighting, media, LED and even scenic design. The MQ500 Stadium supports up to 200 universes onboard direct from the console without the need for external processing. MagicHD media server runs on board, enabling pixel-mapping to all 200 universes. The MQ500 Stadium features dual multi-touch displays in full HD with adjustable viewing angle and gesture support. The MQ500 includes an intensity wheel and 100mm split crossfaders for theatre control, and incorporates 42 fader and executor playbacks for live busking. The MQ500 Stadium has onboard MagicVis 3D visualizer with high quality beam and gobo rendering.

ADJ’s new Entourage is an atmosphere machine built for touring. It uses a 1500W heater to generate 15,000 cubic feet per minute of lights-enhancing faze. A hybrid between a fogger and a hazer, the Entourage uses an economical water-based fog fluid, and disperses it thinly over a wide area. It comes with a heat vent, allowing it run within in its protective case and only needs 45 seconds to warm up. It is capable of continuous operation and has a 5.6-liter tank. The Entourage can be controlled via DMX, but also has a control panel on board.

The app lets users control the Mackie DL32R, DL1608 and DL806 mixers—and now has support for the Mackie AXIS Digital Mixing System. Master Fader v4.5 is packed with new features and enhancements, including a new advanced control section and the number one request from users: all-new reverbs. Adding another great tool for live sound mixing, a Spectrograph is now available alongside the RTA. A spectrograph is a great visual tool to help balance volume across the audible spectrum. In addition, the upgraded RTA/Spectrograph tool is now also visible on every input channel for added accuracy when dialing in a channel EQ.

It comes with a variable white color temperature range of 2800K-9000K, with a full output color temperature of 5000K. Its IP65 rating means it capable of handling adverse weather out doors. The fixture has a 15⁰ to 49⁰ zoom range to deliver complete coverage and allows the fixture to be used as an area-wash, or flooded out for close-up key light applications.It also has 16-bit dimming and DMX color mixing.

Vectorworks has released the 2017 versions of their software, including Spotlight. Updates include a new Resource Manager to enable designers access their resources from multiple content locations. In Vectorworks 2017, project sharing enhancements integrates customer feedback from its initial release in Vectorworks 2016 and frees designers to work anywhere at any time with cloud integration that allows them to save project files in Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and Box. It also offers more options to customize multi-user workflows with the ability to check out individual objects or layers. Addtionally, Vectorworks has implemented a unified symbol library, the addition of fixture modes, enhanced Vision Data Export Mapping and a new Send to Vision command, designers will enjoy the benefits of a reduction in repetitive design tasks for previsualization workflows with Spotlight and Vision 2017 software.

Their upgraded Super Lightweight Clamp has new eyebolt features and has a captive knob, so it can’t fall off. (A nuisance when working at height.) They have also increased the SWL to 100kg.

D3 Technologies released their latest software update: r14. New features include real-time generative effects and device recording. Other improvements include improved DMX patching, sACN and CITP support, cue lists, as well as various under-the-hood performance updates. Notch real-time generative effects playback lets users edit and create high quality real-time content in a node-based environment, then transfer and play back in d3 without time-consuming rendering. Notch content is rendered in real-time on the GPU, so it can also apply effects to your live video capture / IMAG or be made responsive to live stage data, such as audio, MIDI, automation or BlackTrax tracking. Other notable features include d3’s cue list, which have been completely revamped, allowing users to trigger any cue in any track, and edit cues within the cue editor without having to jump to the track.
