Unveiled at the NYC AES Convention, the Eventide H9000, designed as a soundcard/Swiss Army knife for a DAW, is a powerhouse 8-channel audio effects processor in a 2-rackspace chassis. Emphasis is on ease of operation, even when creating complex setups such as effects chains and parallel processing—all handled by a large color display. Its 2,017 (yes, 2,017) presets are culled from the company's popular H8000, DSP4000, H3000, and H9 Harmonizers.

George Petersen, Editor-in-Chief of our sister publication, Front of House, dubbed the Eventide H9000, “A cool live or sound design tool!” I take my audio advice from George as he has seen—and heard it—all. Stay tuned for more on this product.
