K.C. Hooper, a product specialist at Apollo Design Technology and a lighting industry veteran with more than 30 years experience in the field, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, from cancer. He is survived by his wife Jody (née Kanner) and three sons, Kaulin, Kauner and Kaury. Apollo employees have shared their fond memories of “Hoops” on the Apollo blog, and there is a form on his obituary on the Cleveland.com website for others to do the same as well. Services were held Friday, Dec. 14 in Cleveland Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
Apollo Design Technology sadly announces the passing of K.C. Hooper, Apollo Product Specialist. K.C. passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from his battle of cancer. He is survived by his wife Jody and three sons, Kaulin, Kauner, and Kaury.
K.C. had over 30 years of industry experience. He spent 22 years at Arizona State University as the Technical Director and Lighting Director. He then moved onto Rosco Labs as an Account Executive. He was guest lecturer at numerous theatre, film production, and university conferences, written for several industry publications, and made significant contributions in the area of product development.
“Hoop” was well respected, admired, and loved by those who knew him. Apollo President Joel Nichols stated, “KC has always brought a gentle curiosity to our company and industry, willing to work on any project that needed done. He was someone we went to when looking at new products or what the industry was thinking. He touched and influenced so many around him with his supportive nature. His two loves were his family and our industry. He will be missed by so many.”
