In Memoriam: Joseph P. Harris (1927-2015)

PRG Board Member and award-winning theatrical producer Joseph P. Harris passed recently at his home in Greenwich, CT Wednesday, February 11. During his 54-year Broadway career, Mr. Harris crossed paths with many artists, including the legendary Bob Fosse, producing Fosse’s Chicago and the revival of Sweet Charity starring Debbie Allen. Sweet Charity brought him the first of his three Tony Awards, winning Best Reproduction  in 1986. In addition to having been a member and serving on the Board of Governors of The Broadway League, Mr. Harris was the first Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the Johnny Mercer Foundation. He also served on the Board of Directors for Production Resource Group and was a long-time member of the Shubert Alley Irregulars.

The Guthrie Theater Names Joseph Haj Artistic Director

After a year-long search, the Guthrie Theater has announced its new Artistic Director, Joseph Haj. Haj comes to the Guthrie from PlayMakers Repertory Company, the LORT theater company in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a highly respected artist with a reputation for exceptional leadership, notable collaborations and partnerships with the industry’s leading artists and influencers, and award-winning productions of classic and contemporary plays.
