The Cube at Virginia Tech Hosts Virtual Operas, Tornados with Dante Media Networking

Virginia Tech's Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology has a unique four-story performance space/research facility dubbed "The Cube." It has already been used for OperaCraft, a virtual opera in Minecraft, performed live, and also by The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore and Dr. Steve Forbes to get a better understanding of the tornado that plowed through Moore, OK in 2013. It was outfitted with a Dante media networking system.

JAZZed Magazine Introduces New Online Database, JazzFestivalsWorldwide.com

JAZZed Magazine, sister publication to Stage Directions, recently launched JazzFestivalsWorldwide.com, a comprehensive online database for jazz festivals around the world. Every festival has its own page on the site and event organizers are allowed to update data and add information about their festivals free of charge. They can list performance schedules, post pictures of the festival, include their logos and display videos associated with their festivals.

UNLV Selects Philips Entertainment for Educational Outreach Sponsorship

The University of Nevada Las Vegas named Philips Entertainment a partner in its Educational Outreach and Sponsorship Program. Philips Entertainment donated Vari-Lite VL3015 Spot, VLX Wash and VL770 Spot fixtures along with Showline SL NITRO 510 LED strobes and a Philips Strand Lighting NEO console to UNLV.
