Masque Sound Provides Audio Package for Elephant Man

Naomi Crews

John Gromada was the sound designer for The Elephant Man, and he worked with Masque Sound to create an audio package that delivered "the aural landscape that keeps the production moving forward,” says Gromada. “With about 20 scenes in total, my goal, artistically, was to sew the whole production together, take those scenes and make something full out of them in a way that was bold and daring." Charles Coes was the associate sound designer.

A Cornucopia of LDI Videos

Jacob Coakley

First up, and most recently, Stage Directions recorded 19 videos at the 2014 LDI show. We've got videos of new products from Ultratec, Vectorworks, RC4 Wireless, PixelFlex, Pathway Connectivity, Dazian Creative Fabric Environments and more. You can check them all out in our LDI round-up. Perhaps one of the coolest things to see demo'd at the show, though, was the new Chauvet Professional Ovation ED-190WW fixture. It's an LED fixture that can run on constant power and DMX -- but it can also be plugged in to a traditional, dimmable circuit, and it will respond just like a traditional incandescent fixture, fading up and down according to the dimmed power from the circuit. It's pretty slick.
