National Directors Fellowship Launches at Eugene O’Neill Theater Center

A joint endeavor between The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, National New Play Network, and the Stage Directors & Choreographers Foundation, the National Directors Fellowship is a five-year initiative “that will fast-track the professional development of 25 early-career stage directors, continuing the advancement of new artists and new plays in America.”

Rosco and Blacktank Release Rosco Braq Cube 4C and WNC

Rosco and Black Tank have teamed up for the new Braq line of ultra-compact 100 Watt LED fixtures. Available in two models, the Braq 4C (with RGBW LEDs) and WNC (temperature variable white light) are small enough to be hidden in sets but also powerful enough to replace PAR cans on the balcony rail, cyc lights or house lights. The Braq WNC is capable of generating 7100 Lumens of High Quality white light at any color temperature between 2700k and 6500k.  It also boasts a 92 CRI.

Chauvet Introduces COLORado 1-Quad Zoom Tour

The new COLORado 1-Quad Zoom Tour is a PAR-style unit with quad-color LEDs, large zoom range and multiple dimming curves. It carries many of the features of its larger sibling, the 2-Quad Zoom Tour, but in a smaller form factor. It weighs 15 pounds (6.8 kg) and measures 13.14 x 9.25 x 7.48 inches (334 x 235 x 190 mm) and has seven 15-watt Quad-Color LEDs (red, green, blue, white) that emit 3,358 lux at 5 meters (8° beam angle). Like the original, the COLORado 1-Quad Zoom Tour provides exceptionally smooth and accurate RGBW color blending, which can be done either manually or via DMX. It features a broad color temperature range of 2800 to 10000K, with built-in color temperature presets.

USITT Releases Session Schedule for 2015 Show

The session schedule for the 2015 USITT show in Cincinnati has more than 200 listings, including more sessions on new technology, emerging fields like projection design and advanced learning. Projection pioneer Wendall Harrington, who teaches projection design at Yale School of Drama, will receive USITT’s Distinguished Achievement Award in Education in a special session on her work.
