James Lamb, President of Point Source Audio will be taking part on a panel at the upcoming Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA) annual membership meeting in Chicago. Lamb will be joining Rona Siddiqui and moderator, Lindsay Jones to discuss music composition. This will be Session #4 - Orchestrators and Composers: Demystifying the Collaboration, that will take place at 6:00pm on Sunday, June 23rd at the new headquarters of Shure, Inc. in downtown Chicago.

James Lamb is a 30-year music and audio professional and the Assistant Bandmaster for the California State Guard Band. Lamb studied trumpet under Los Angeles’ finest musicians and was awarded a full scholarship to California State University at Northridge’s School of Music. Upon leaving CSUN Lamb joined the Navy as a musician where he was arranger, performer, and leader of various ensembles touring the US, Asia, and Australia. After leaving the Navy, Lamb moved to New York City to become a freelance artist. Credits included musical director and arranger for performances at Lincoln Center, the New Jersey Pops Orchestra, and conducting the New Jersey All Star Big Band. The highlight of his stay in New York was as Music Director/Conductor of the Great American Songbook Orchestra for critically acclaimed performances at Carnegie Hall, the Williamson Center for the Performing Arts, and the Harman Center. Recording credits include Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey and Skywalker Sound in California and his concert works are published by J.W. Pepper. Lamb founded Point Source Audio in 2004, a premier manufacturer of miniature microphones used on Broadway, broadcast and live performance.

The TSDCA is holding its fourth annual membership meeting, with events for both members as well as the general public. On June 23rd-24th, the TSDCA will hold two days of public panels and discussions regarding sound design and composition in theatre. The events will be held at the brand-new headquarters of Shure, 125 S Clark St, Chicago, IL 60603 from 11am-8pm on June 23rd, and 10:30am-8pm on June 24th.

Cost for Non-Members of TSDCA: $60/day Fee waived with membership application.
