Center Theatre Group Presents the Going Pro Career Fair

LOS ANGELES, CA—Center Theatre Group invites current undergraduate and graduate-level college and university students to attend the Going Pro Career Fair on Saturday, April 8, 2017, hosted by East Los Angeles College (ELAC). The fair is intended to help current undergraduate and graduate-level students prepare for a professional theatre career with a resource fair, speed networking sessions, panel discussions, and a networking mixer.

Applications now available for 2017 ETC LDI Student Sponsorship

MIDDLETON, WI—For nearly two decades, ETC’s LDI Student Sponsorship has given students a unique way to gain experience, make connections, launch a career, and to attend the LDI tradeshow with all expenses paid. ETC’s LDI Student Sponsorship includes roundtrip airfare to the LDI tradeshow, which will be November 17 to 19 this year, along with hotel accommodations, all meals, a full conference pass, a student reception to meet people in the industry, and exclusive ETC swag. Applications for this year’s Sponsorship are now available and are due by June 9th, 2017.

Chauvet Opens New Facility In Mexico

LERMA, MEXICO—Chauvet Mexico recently celebrated the grand premiere of its new office, warehouse, service center, and showroom facility located in Lerma, Mexico. Over 100 assembled guests representing dealers and production houses joined Albert and Berenice Chauvet at the grand premiere festivities, which featured a buffet dinner, speeches, and DJ entertainment.

LOS ANGELES, CA—Multi award-winning and Tony-nominated lighting designer Justin Townsend (The Humans, American Psycho, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) recently designed the world premiere of David Byrne’s Joan of Arc: Into the Fire, at New York’s Public Theate in their Newman Theater. The venue is an intimate 300-seat capacity yet it is long and deep to the back, so Townsend was looking for lighting that could both embrace the intimacy and reach to the furthest recesses of the space.

Roundabout Theatre & IATSE's TWDP a Model for Training the Next Generation Backstage

NEW YORK, NY—Roundabout Theatre Company and Education at Roundabout have announced the Theatrical Workforce Development Program (TWDP), the theatre industry's first workforce development program to train and place young adults in professional technical theatre careers. This new initiative aims to break down the barriers that prevent young adults from joining the industry and empower a diverse new generation of theatre professionals. In partnership with the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and the youth development non-for- profit, The Door, Roundabout's new program marks the first collaboration between a theatrical employer and the union that represents backstage workers to train and place young adults in professional careers as Stagehands, Riggers, Electricians, Sound Engineers, Carpenters, Hairstylists, Makeup Artists and Wardrobe Workers.
