Cadac CDC Six Sells Out

Cadac’s CDC six console has met with great success in Europe, selling out its first two production runs. The town cultural center in Plonsk accepted one of the units and its technicians are pleased with it, saying that with “the simple and transparent interface, operation of the console turned out to be trivially simple.”

Masque Sound Supplies Winning Audio for Gin Game

Sound Designer David Van Tieghem used Meyer Sound UPJ-1P and UPA-1A speakers and a Yamaha CL1 console (for its quality and compact size) to reinforce the dialogue and create the sonic landscape for the Broadway revival of The Gin Game. Masque Sound supplied the equipment. “I was really happy that Masque Sound was able to provide me with the equipment I needed to bring my vision to the stage,” said Van Tieghem.

In Memoriam: Jan Musson

Jan Musson, founder of Musson Theatrical, died on Monday, Dec. 21 in her home in Goshen, KY. She was 79. Musson founded Musson Theatrical in her home in 1971 and later sold the business in 1995. A graduate of Stanford University, with a masters from San Jose State University, Musson worked as a lighting designer for theatres in Silicon Valley for more than 20 years. After she moved to Louisville in 1988, she started a branch of Musson Theatrical there, served as lighting designer for Walden Theatre in Louisville, and was a Fellow of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT). Acentech’s Studio A Advises on Acoustics for Arts Centers

Acentech Studio A lent their audio expertise to a series of projects in 2015, including the newly renovated Miller Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. Originally an elementary school, the building houses several flexible dance studios, offices and a 186-seat theatre. Studio A provided acoustics and mechanical system noise control consulting and extensive acoustical modeling for the project.

Vectorworks Sponsors Stage Lighting Super Saturday

Vectorworks will sponsor the 11th annual Stage Lighting Super Saturday taking place Jan. 9 at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, located at 721 Broadway in New York City. One session of particular interest will be Computer Aided Design & Paperwork, which will introduce participants to how CAD is used to draft light plots. Programs covered during the presentation will include Vectorworks Spotlight software and LightWright.
