Lighting Designer Valerio Tiberi on Lighting West Side Story in Italy

The Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino hosted the return of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story 100 years after Bernstein's birth. This musical theater masterpiece is one of the most loved shows still performed today. Lighting designer Valerio Tiberi drew inspiration for his work "from the new adaptation and the atmosphere of the Upper West Side of New York in the mid-1950s,” he says. Sound Designer Brian Bird on the New Speaker System for Lindenwood Theater

Named for local businessman and philanthropist Jerry Scheidegger, the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts on the campus of St. Charles, MO’s Lindenwood University is a $32 million, state-of-the-art educational and performing arts complex. The 138,000-square-foot facility’s main theater, the 1,200-seat Lindenwood Theater, can be a challenging acoustical space, with its high interior and ceiling weight load restrictions. The school’s ambitious theatre program also adds its own specialized requirements. Thankfully, an L-Acoustics Kara sound system recently installed there by St. Louis-based Logic Systems addresses both the acoustic and artistic requirements with ease.

The National Theatre in London Expands Lighting Inventory

The National Theatre, situated on London’s South Bank, has been a revered national institution for over 50 years. Its three theaters, the 1,110-seat Olivier, the 890-seat Lyttelton and the 400-seat Dorfman, play host to a wide range of theater performances. The NT technical department have the responsibility to provide the best quality equipment in order to maintain the highest standards for all productions. The NT Lighting Department recently invested in more Robert Juliat lighting equipment over the last 12 months adding to its already large inventory of RJ fixtures.
