Djembe! The Show Makes U.S. Debut with a Zach Blane Lighting Design

Djembe! The Show is an energy-filled, theatrical concert experience that mixes traditional West African beats with modern takes on contemporary music that has toured Europe and even been featured on Ted Talks and Oprah’s Super Soul Sessions. It made its limited U.S. debut at the Apollo Theater in Chicago with lighting design by Zach Blane, who used an all Elation LED lighting rig to accentuate the unique production. Upgrading with LED Followspots for The House of Dancing Water

Franco Dragone's production, The House of Dancing Water in Macau’s City of Dreams is an enthralling visual feast which has been seen by over 5 million people since its premiere in 2010. Six Robert Juliat 600W LED Oz followspots have been installed as part of the recent upgrade of the show. The powerful, long-throw LED models were supplied with push-pull, 6-way color changers and heavy-duty adjustable yokes in anticipation of the show’s extremely busy schedule. The Cher Show, a jukebox musical showcasing the career of the entertainment icon, is running at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre with a video systems package from WorldStage.The production traces the life of Cher by using three actresses to portray her as “Babe,” “Lady” and “Star.”  The stage set, featuring lots of sparkle and reflective elements, comprises automated scenic pieces with lighting and video capabilities. The ever-changing set is a backdrop for many of Cher’s most famous performances, including memorable turns on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and Britain’s Top of the Pops.
