Full Compass Systems Hires Craig Johnson as CEO

Full Compass announces its recent hire of Craig Johnson, who will join the company as Chief Executive Officer. In his role as CEO, he will be responsible for setting the future strategy and direction of Full Compass Systems, as well as building and leading the senior executive team. Johnson will report to the company’s owners, Susan and Jonathan Lipp, who will continue in their roles as co-chairs of the Board of Directors.

St. Croix ArtBarn Colorizes its Productions

Roughly 7,000 dairy farms closed in Wisconsin between 1993 and 1998 according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In the northwest corner of the state, though, one such structure was given new life as The St. Croix ArtBarn, a vibrant community theatre and concert venue. This year, almost a quarter of a century since its rebirth, the 180-seat theatre greatly expanded its production capabilities with the addition of a new lighting system featuring Chauvet Professional COLORdash fixtures supplied by Monkey Wrench Productions.

Sound Designer Peter McBoyle Goes Upstairs & Downstairs for Productions of Grease and A Christmas Carol

Canadian sound designer and theatre consultant Peter McBoyle, whose long list of credits include Come Fly Away on Broadway and The Wild Party in Toronto, is currently at work on two simultaneous productions of Grease and A Christmas Carol at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre, a rare double-decker venue in downtown Toronto. For both productions, McBoyle is using Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless equipment, with 24 SSM micro beltpack transmitters and Venue receivers in place upstairs at the Winter Garden for Grease, while downstairs at the Elgin 12 SSM micro beltpack transmitters and Venue receivers are at work on A Christmas Carol.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) recently staged an inventive and reimagined version of Macbeth that features an all-male cast, EDM-style music, and modern design elements. Lighting the contemporary version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy is Lighting Designer Alex Jainchill, who uses dynamic lighting to meet lighting challenges and create magical moments for this contemporary version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, including special black light UV effects.

Aalborg Theatre Chooses Robe

The Aalborg Theatre is in the heart of Denmark’s fourth largest city. Established in 1878, it has a rich and colorful history and is known as a ‘heavyweight’ on the Danish theatre scene. This long standing critical fortitude was further advanced with the arrival of Hans Henriksen as artistic director in 2015, who had several key objectives including one to make the production program more dynamic, cutting-edge, and accessible.
