Take a working vacation and train with industry leaders Joe Aldridge, Coordinator for EED, and Eddie Raymond, ETCP Recognized Trainer, on September 11-14 for OSHA 10 and Rigging Training in Honolulu, HI. The OSHA 10-hour program (September 11-12) provides training on OSHA general industry safety and health regulations for entertainment professionals of all skill levels. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. Upon completion of both days you will have earned your OSHA 10 card.

TCG and American Theatre Wing Receive NEA Grants

As part of its second round of funding for FY 2017, both the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) and the American Theatre Wing received grants from the National Endowment (NEA). TCG was awarded $100,000 by the NEA, which will support TCG’s national convenings, professional development programs, and resources for theater artists, administrators, and trustees nationwide. American Theatre Wing will recieve two Art Works awards: $35,000 to fund SpringboardNYC and the Theatre Intern Network, and $25,000 for production of the Working in the Theatre docuseries.

On July 14, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ratified an Order on Reconsideration and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning the use of the frequency spectrum that will impact all wireless microphone users. Sennheiser and others lauded the Order on Reconsideration, both for its role as a potential safeguard against the costly pre-mature obsolescence of existing equipment and also for its role of harmonizing with European wireless regulations and standards. The Order on Reconsideration ensures that wireless audio applications, both now and in the future, will continue to flourish.
