Pro Production Special Presentation- Jonathan Smeeton: A Life in Design

Legendary Lighting and Production Designer, as well as 2018 Parnelli Lifetime Visionary Award Recipient, Jonathan Smeeton will look at some of his most iconic designs as he reflects upon the path of his career and how that has shaped his life’s work in the live entertainment production side of the music industry. Smeeton, the mind behind “Liquid Len and the Lensmen,” provided light shows for the band Hawkwind in the 1970s which skyrocketed his career to work with Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Frank Zappa, Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart, Paul Simon, Def Leppard, Wham, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, and Marilyn Manson. Currently, he’s working with Diana Ross. His vast touring credits include providing pyro for the Rolling Stones’ 1992 Tattoo You tour as well as the landmark tours of Paul Simon’s South African-themed Graceland Tour, Journey’s Raised on Radio Tour, Def Leppard’s 1987-88 Hysteria tour, and Taylor Swift’s 2009 Fearless tour.
