The Guild of Scenic Artists have left winter behind and travelled to sunny Florida for the 2018 USITT Conference and Stage Expo in Fort Lauderdale, March 14-17. Stop by the Guild of Scenic Artists’ Booth #1939 to say hello and get some swag! They are eager to talk about the resources the Guild offers for fellow Scenic Artists, plans they have for the future, and to listen to your feedback on how they can better serve you.

Come hang out, relax, and connect in a relaxed setting. The Guild of Scenic Artists will be running a cash raffle, giving away prizes, and 10% of our party receipts will be donated back to the Guild!

Ellen Jones has two sessions, Reality of Climate Change and Green Theatre Around the World. These sessions cover how environmental issues and challenges intersect with theatre, and how we can create a more sustainable future.

Wednesday, March 14 @ 2:45pm
Angelique Powers and David Glowacki will lead Can’t Touch This: Chemical Handling and Storage.
This will be a discussion about common chemical hazards faced in the theatre, utilizing resources to keep things safe, and answering questions about how to be a better advocate for your own safety.

Friday, March 16 @ 5:30pm
Karen Glass, Diane Fargo, Rachel Keebler, and Lili Payne will be speaking about Rocking Rollers: Making and using textured and patterned paint rollers. This session will show how to transform the lowly roller into an amazing texturing and artistic tool.

Thursday @ 4pm
Karen Maness and Richard Isackes will be having a book signing of the award-winning book The Art of the Hollywood Backdrop.

Last year was the big debut of the Guild of Scenic Artists, and they were delighted to meet with so many people and groups and can't wait to meet more. They are eager to hear your ideas, stories, and talk about how they can make a better organization for Scenics, by Scenics!
