3LD Announces New Appointment and Residency Program Submission Deadline

by Stage Directions
NEW YORK CITY — 3LD has named Morgan Von Prelle Pecelli as artistic and development director for emerging artists. Von Prelle Pecelli, former managing and programming director for the Ontological-Hysteri Theater, will spearhead 3LD’s new Early Development Artist Residency Program. 3LD is currently taking submissions from artists making cutting edge, hybrid theater, dance, performance and installation work, who are taking risks and want to work with technology. Artist budgets must be between $5,000 and $25,000.
Three to four artists will be chosen per season. These artists are selected one year in advance of their season and spend the year meeting regularly with 3LD to discuss both their artistic and business challenges and successes.  Artists are required at some point in their residency to open their studio to the public.
3LD will provide studio space at a discounted rate for the public showings, and work with the artists towards achieving fundraising goals. Any income earned by the artists while they are in their studio, the artists keep. 3LD will also provide marketing and publicity support for the public showings.
Resident artists will also receive free participation in 3LD’s Mentorship and Artist Professional Development Training Programs, which includes administration training, technology training, resource growth training, financial management training, among others. Submissions for the new residency program are open now. Submissions are due by Oct. 11, 2007 for Fall 2008. Submissions for Winter/Spring 2009 are due on Jan. 1, 2008.
