Timothy J. Shields Named Managing Director of the Old Globe

The Board of Directors of The Old Globe announced the appointment of Timothy J. Shields as Managing Director. A nationally respected arts leader, Shields will work together with Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein to lead San Diego’s flagship arts institution. Both Shields and Edelstein will report jointly to the Board of Directors. Currently the Managing Director at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey, Shields will assume his Managing Director duties at The Old Globe in October.

Colin Beveridge, CEO of d&b Corporation since its inception in the mid-1990s, has transferred his responsibilities for d&b audiotechnik in the Americas to the next generation as part of a planned retirement. Following the transition, Beveridge will remain on board as Senior Strategic Advisor for the management team in the Americas and company headquarters in Backnang, Germany—a welcome sign of his continued commitment to d&b. William Cornell has succeeded Beveridge as Territory Manager for the Americas and President and CEO of d&b audiotechnik US Group, effective 10th July 2017.

Mark Shanda has been selected as the next dean of the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts pending approval by the UK Board of Trustees. Shanda is a professor and season producer at the Department of Theatre in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University. He is also president of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT).
