Old Globe and University of San Diego Rename MFA in Theatre to Honor Shileys

​The Old Globe and University of San Diego have renamed their program to the Shiley Graduate Theatre Program to honor the generosity of Donald and Darlene Shiley who established a generous endowment that allows students to attend tuition-free. In 2010, they also gave a substantial gift to endow the Craig Noel Distinguished Professorship in Graduate Theater, in honor of the Old Globe’s founding director.

UNLV Selects Philips Entertainment for Educational Outreach Sponsorship

The University of Nevada Las Vegas named Philips Entertainment a partner in its Educational Outreach and Sponsorship Program. Philips Entertainment donated Vari-Lite VL3015 Spot, VLX Wash and VL770 Spot fixtures along with Showline SL NITRO 510 LED strobes and a Philips Strand Lighting NEO console to UNLV. CalArts President to Step Down as of Spring 2017

CalArts announced that its current President, Steven D. Lavine, is to step down in the spring of 2017 after a 29-year tenure. Lavine and his wife, Janet Sternburg, are pictured here. The announcement, made nearly two years prior to Lavine's departure, gives two full academic years for Lavine to focus on key initiatives that will serve as the capstone to his CalArts career.
