The 33rd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards

The 2018 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out on Sunday, May 6th evening to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center and this year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund.

The annual awards ended in a tie for Outstanding Play with both Cost of Living and School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play recognized; KPOP took the award for Outstanding Musical. Louisa Thompson was recognized for her scenic design for In The Blood; Dede M. Ayite’s costume designs were awarded for School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play; outstanding lighting design went to Alan C. Edwards for his design for Harry Clarke; Leah Gelpe’s sound design for Mary Jane was recognized; and the projection design for Pipeline went to Hannah Wasileski.
