The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, have announced its winners for the 2017-18 season. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tops win list with 6 awards including outstanding set design to Christine Jones; lighting design to Neil Austin; projection design to Finn Ross & Ash Woodward; and sound design to Gareth Fry. My Fair Lady followed with 5 awards including outstanding costume design to Catherine Zuber. SpongeBob SquarePants won 4 Awards, “Angels in AmericaCarousel both came away with 3 awards each.

Celebrating its 68th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theatre, the Outer Critics Circle, is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, web sites, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

The annual Gala Awards Dinner and presentation of awards to the winners will be held on Thursday, May 24th at Sardi’s Restaurant.

Please Note: The Band’s Visit was nominated for and received multiple awards from the Outer Critics Circle last season and therefore was not considered again for this year.
