Behind the Scenes of Wicked: Creativity in Set Design

October 30, 2018 is the 15th Anniversary of the opening night of Wicked, The Musical. We here at Stage Directions send our congratulations on this big occasion in the life of this production. Wicked, The Musical's Tony-Award winning scene design, by Scenic Designer, Eugene Lee, has been seen by audiences not only on Broadway, but around the world through its many tours. The show has been dazzling audiences with one of the most creative and innovative sets ever created. In this video from Artrageous with Nate, an Emmy award-winning video series, they get a behind the scenes look at the set from Wicked's Associate Scenic Designer, Edward Pierce.

Pierce, who has worked on a number of productions with Lee, has filled the role of Design Supervisor for Wicked, having overseen all of the subsequent productions and tours of since it opened on Broadway on October 30, 2003.
