Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) in the Arts COVID-19 Impact Survey

Stage Directions • Industry News • June 23, 2020

The Arts Administrators of Color Network (AAC) invites you to participate in a survey to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) artists, arts administrators, and cultural organizations. Let them know how COVID-19 has uniquely impacted you and your work. Your communities have been hit hard. Help them better understand the impact so they can continue to create paths forward. The purpose of this survey is to gain a deeper understanding of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on BIPOC artists, arts administrators, and cultural organizations. This survey closes on July 3, 2020.

This is a 15-minute online survey that will ask you questions about COVID-19’s impact on your finances and mental health & wellness. You can read more about it and take the survey here: https://buff.ly/3eqfyYP

There are no risks associated with your participation in this study. You will remain completely anonymous. AAC and Dr. Antonio C. Cuyler at Florida State University (FSU) will store the data in a password protected on-line repository provided by Qualtrics survey software. The major benefit of your participation in this survey is that it will contribute to developing a better understanding of how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted BIPOC artists, arts administrators, and cultural organizations. This understanding will provide critical data that will inform an advocacy strategy to support BIPOC artists, arts administrators, and cultural organizations.

AAC and Dr. Cuyler will keep the records of this study private and confidential to the extent permitted by law. They will not include information that will personally identify you as a participant of this survey in any report that they publish. They will store research records electronically and only they will have access to the records through a password-protected account.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. Your decision to participate will not affect your current or future relations with AAC or Florida State University (FSU). If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time.

Further information about the survey or to ask questions about it, please contact Dr. Cuyler directly: acuyler@fsu.edu.
