OSF Staff Among Those Who Lost Homes in Fires

Stage Directions • Industry News • September 21, 2020

At this time many in our industry are hurting and we need to support each other however best we can. Unfortunately, we need to again ask for any relief our readership can offer to our colleagues affected by the horrendous fires in the western region of our country these past weeks. Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s staff have been hit hard by the fires with at least 15 OSF employees having lost their homes and many more are displaced.

OSF notes on their website: (
The impact and losses from the ongoing Southern Oregon wildfires have been devastating. Many in the area, including OSF staff, lost their homes and all belongings in the Almeda fire which swept through the Rogue Valley on September 8 and 9. Many more are displaced and will not be able to return home, possibly for weeks.

There are way that you can help in whatever small way possible. It would be greatly appreciated.
