It is a strange and trying time for all of us in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We certainly understand times are tough for you, as they are for us. We have been proud to bring Stage Directions for free all these many years and we will continue to provide you with complimentary subscriptions during the pandemic. However, we would like to ask in these difficult times that you consider a small donation to help support our efforts here at Stage Directions as we work to keep our industry up to date by providing you with a continuous stream of current and vital information when it is needed, today more than ever, to keep us all in the theater community connected.
Starting Friday October 16 and running through Sunday, October 18, 2020, San Diego State University is presenting Dear Harvey, a Zoom Performance. Written by Patricia Loughrey, with music by Thomas Hodges, it’s directed by Peter Cirino, and produced by Jay Sheehan.
Join them for a truly memorable experience: the first Zoom performance of the landmark LGBT rights based play, Dear Harvey. At its core is a look at the LGBT activist Harvey Milk’s life, through the eyes of his loved ones. Its debut performance was at SDSU in 2009, when LGBT rights were at the cusp of being reevaluated in California. They have put a great deal of effort into making this performance unique and inviting in an online world. The website for the production is a guide into the historical context behind Dear Harvey, and a chance to meet the artistic team. Visit the new SDSU Theatre, Television, and Film’s website here for tickets.
