Utah Shakespeare Festival | Backstage Video: Tour of the Prop Shop

Stage Directions • Theatre Buzz • September 22, 2020

In a previous Backstage Video, people were taken on a tour of the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s props warehouse. In this video replay, you can join Properties Director Benjamin Hohman for a tour of the Utah Shakes prop shop where all that work was created. He shows off some of the specialized tools and equipment used to create these props that were used on the Festival stages, and get a sneak peek at a few of the many things they were beginning work on for the 2021 season.

Join Utah Shakespeare Festival for its next Virtual Seminar, Circuits, Transducers, and Lamps, Oh My!: The Intricate World of Electrics, where they will explore the complex world of the electrics department and talk about creating light and sound for the stage. This hour long seminar will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. MDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT on the Utah Shakespeare Facebook Page. Guests will be Kate Morton, lighting supervisor; Adam Visconti, lead audio engineer; Ryan Turpin, audio supervisor; and Danielle Davis, assistant electrics director. The seminar will be moderated by Richard Girtain, production director.
